The journey to the creation of Johnny’s restaurant began back in 1981, when our owner, John Edward Hammack began his first job as a busboy. The restaurant, a local favorite called Merks was absolutely crazy busy on John’s first-day – Mother’s Day. For a brief moment, amidst the madness he wondered for a moment what he was thinking trying to this job. It was a day he would never forget!
Despite being overwhelmed and understaffed as the only busboy, the fever for the restaurant industry had begun.
Now, over 13 years later there is nothing John would rather be doing than the same thing he’s always done – bussing tables, cooking meals and taking great care of his customers. Johnny’s was opened in 2001 and has been a labor of love ever since. Now over 13 years later we have served thousands of satisfied customers and hope that you are one of them in the near future.
